National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. CSW has traditionally been held the last week in January. The week is observed with assemblies and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate our Catholic schools. Everyone is welcome to join Mass on Wednesday of the week. Students from all schools come together as one community of faith to celebrate the Eucharist in McHale Gymnasium at Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School.
Day of Giving
Day of Giving is a 24 hour day of to share stories and give back to Catholic education. All monies raised directly support teacher pay, student programs and help keep tuition affordable.

The LCSS Scavenger kicked off in February of 2021 in response to the cancellation of several community events due to COVID-19. The event was an instant success as students, families and friends were able to compete with an app-based game that encourages individuals to think outside-of-the-box and utilize items found in their homes and neighborhoods. Players have to complete missions that are focused on family, faith, community and reflective of our Gospel Values. New missions are released daily as teams earn points for completing tasks.

Creativity and community are all part of the fun. Players see how others are doing through the activity feed of text, video and photo submissions.

The team with the most points does win a high-value prize. If there are multiple high point teams with the same number of points, each one is entered into a blind drawing that is shared by video feed with everyone.

Registration details will be made available in January.

If you have creative ideas you would like to share with the committee or would like to get more involved, contact the Advancement Office at (765) 474-7500 or events@lcss.org

The Blue Knight Auction (BKA), held the last Saturday in April, has become a Lafayette Catholic School System tradition. Since 1994, when Dave and Angie Schrader started the event, the BK has raised over $5 million dollars for Catholic education. It is one of, if not, THE premiere one-night fundraising event in the area. The BKA strengthens the LCSS Community through social interaction, service and financial support. St. Francis High School was started by the Sister of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in the 1920's. It was a parochial all-girls high school that predated Central Catholic. In 1957 the school officially closed and Central Catholic High School was opened. In honor of their legacy, the Lafayette Catholic School System hosts an annual reunion luncheon for alumni. The event typically takes place in May. Event details are sent via mail. If you have questions or comments related to the event, please contact (765) 474-7500 or events@lcss.org
Knight to Remember
A tradition was started in 2006 to acknowledge distinguished Central Catholic alumni for their achievements in spiritual, community, service and professional life. This is the highest accolade reserved solely for alumni. In 2020 a new tradition was started to recognize and celebrate faculty, staff, administrators and honorary individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution of time, talent and effort to the Lafayette Catholic School System. Nominations are accepted year round and all nominees are reviewed and recommended by a selection committee composed of the LCSS Advancement Committee, CC alumni, past winners and school leaders in the month of March. Nominees are approved by the LCSS Executive Director. Winners are announced at the Blue Knight Auction and recognized on stage during the commencement ceremonies.

A reception is held prior to commencement to honor each individual.

Each July the Knights of Columbus Local #457 hosts the annual K of C Car Show on the front lawn at Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School. The event includes food, entertainment, fun and free stuff. Over 15 classes of cars are judged for prizes and recognition. All proceeds benefit the Central Catholic Professional Development for Teachers.
