CSW Logo
National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. CSW has traditionally been held the last week in January. The week is observed with assemblies and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate our Catholic schools. Everyone is welcome to join Mass on Wednesday of the week. Students from all schools come together as one community of faith to celebrate the Eucharist in McHale Gymnasium at Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School.
Day of Giving
Day of Giving is a 24 hour day to share stories and give back to Catholic education. All monies raised directly support teacher pay, student programs, and help keep tuition affordable.

Mother Son Bowling
Mother Son Bowling started in 2019 from feedback received from parents. Held annually in March at one of the local bowling alleys, the event is open to all Kindergarten through 6th grade mothers and sons. Due to alley capacity, the event sells out quickly so register early! The evening includes food, drinks and prizes.

Sponsorship opportunities are available to make the event affordable for all families who want to be part of this special evening. Details are sent home in school folders and through digital communication channels for specific date, time and registration information. Contact the Advancement Office at (765) 474-7500 or [email protected] if you would like more information on how you can support.

BKA
The Blue Knight Auction (BKA), held the last Saturday in April, has become a Lafayette Catholic School System tradition. Since 1994, when Dave and Angie Schrader started the event, the BKA has raised over $5 million dollars for Catholic education. It is one of, if not, THE premier one-night fundraising event in the area. The BKA strengthens the LCSS Community through social interaction, service and financial support. Businesses and individuals throughout the broader community support the entire school system through donated items and sponsorship. Special projects and teacher wish list items are funded through this event.

Knight to Remember
A tradition was started in 2006 to acknowledge distinguished Central Catholic alumni for their achievements in spiritual, community, service and professional life. This is the highest accolade reserved solely for alumni. In 2020 a new tradition was started to recognize and celebrate faculty, staff, administrators and honorary individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution of time, talent and effort to the Lafayette Catholic School System. Nominations are accepted year round and all nominees are reviewed and recommended by a selection committee composed of the LCSS Advancement Committee, CC alumni, past winners and school leaders in the month of March. Winners are announced at the Blue Knight Auction and recognized on stage during the commencement ceremonies.

A reception is held the day before commencement to honor each individual.

Each July the Knights of Columbus Local #457 hosts the annual K of C Car Show on the front lawn at Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School. The event includes food, entertainment, fun and free stuff. Over 15 classes of cars are judged for prizes and recognition. All proceeds benefit the Central Catholic Professional Development for Teachers.
