How do you measure the impact of the support you provide in the community?
Any time that we see direct impacts of our financial support, donations or service hours that help these causes — whether it is helping our veterans, donating and handing out school supplies to local kids who need them before the first day of school or local food drives that help those in need — we consider that a huge success.
We believe giving back to the communities where we live and work is one of the most important ways we can positively impact the world.
Beyond financial contributions, how does your company give back to the community at home and at large?
Our primary community focus centers on aiding veterans and military servicemen, supporting children and meeting food insecurity needs across our nation.
As a proud American manufacturing company, Wabash appreciates the sacrifices that secure our freedoms. That’s why we partner with local and national programs that support our active-duty troops and veterans and their families, including the Indiana Veterans’ Home, the Wounded Warrior Project, Lafayette Armory and U.S. Army Reserve Center, Folds of Honor Foundation and the Honor Flight Network.
We also support numerous civic, cultural, economic and social welfare organizations across North America, investing in communities through in-kind donations and employee volunteer service hours on top of financial contributions to make a meaningful, lasting impact on our communities.
We currently partner with United Way, Feeding America, Junior Achievement, Salvation Army, Wabash Center, Habitat for Humanity and many other charitable causes.
What motivated your company to become a corporate partner for Central Catholic?
Fostering the relationship between Wabash and Central Catholic - one of the top high schools in the area - could help impact the lives of students and let them know of the great opportunities that are available for them both now and in the future here in Lafayette. We currently have many Central Catholic alumni working for Wabash, specifically in the Lafayette area.
