Introducing Lafayette Catholic School System's New Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations: Boo Gillette De Oliveira
The Lafayette Catholic School System is proud to introduce its new Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, Boo Gillette De Oliveira. With an impressive background spanning over two decades in athletics and education, Boo brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to faith and excellence to her new role. Her proven track record of success in alumni engagement and fundraising makes her a valuable addition to the LCSS team.
Boo Gillette De Oliveira's journey in Catholic education began when she attended St. Bernadette Catholic School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School in South Florida. Her Catholic education left a lasting impact on her, instilling in her the values and virtues associated with it. This background, combined with her extensive experience in collegiate athletics and coaching, makes Boo uniquely qualified for her new role.
Boo's extensive coaching career, which spans over eighteen years at prestigious universities, has equipped her with essential skills for her role at LCSS. Serving as the Head Softball Coach at Purdue University for the past seven years, she was deeply involved in student-athlete development and community engagement, as well as alumni relations and fundraising through the John Purdue Club.
She actively worked to create engaging alumni materials, organize events, and build strong relationships with alumni and donors. Her efforts also played a significant role in securing substantial donations, such as the three-million-dollar donation from Marv Bittinger, which led to Bittinger Stadium's namesake and videoboard.
Her passion for the position and her alignment with LCSS's mission make her an exciting addition to the team.
Boo and her husband, Emerson, are parents to three children, Mila (a student at St. Lawrence), Nico, and baby Nora.
