Central Catholic's New Spiritual Plaza and Front Walkway

We invite everyone to a special opening ceremony on Friday, September 8th at 1:30 pm.

It's been a long time coming! Covid, construction material costs, and weather delayed the Spiritual Plaza and front walkway from its original timeframe, but this project is finally coming to an end!

Thanks in part to generous donations from the Class of 1965, the Gernhardt Family, and the Daughters of the American Revolution, the front of Central Catholic looks updated and refreshed.

The plaza offers seating for students to take part in classes outdoors. Our Student Services department will also hold book discussions in the plaza this fall.

Around the outside of the circle, the ten commandments are etched into the stone, and the walkway toward the school includes the Stations of the Cross.

A permanent historical marker honoring Mary T. Klinker '65, killed in action during Operation Babylift in the Vietnam War, completes the Plaza.
