Entrepreneurship "Imagineers" a Bright Future

Entrepreneurship teacher, Mr. Matt Newkirk, started the summer with a trip to the Disney Imagination Campus with the Entrepreneurship Club.

The students attended two days of seminars. The first was focused on the physics and design of some of Walt Disney World's most famous thrill rides. The second day focused on leadership development and creative thinking.

Of course, the students had some time to have fun and explore the parks as well. It was an opportunity to learn and bond together.

Our students will use these lessons as they head into a year with Mr. Newkirk's class that is structured around a real-life business, the Knights Armory. The graduated seniors who attended will be able to transfer these skills to college.

At the Armory, students design and market spirit wear. They create social media content and sales flyers and run the purchasing, website, and ordering process.

In other exciting news, due to a partnership with Ivy Tech and MatchBOX Co-working Studio, Central Catholic's Entrepreneurship course will now be offered as a college-credit course. This will put our students on a fast track to an entrepreneurship certificate and the launch of a real business.

This opportunity will undoubtedly separate Central Catholic's entrepreneurship program from other local schools' programs. It will give our students a shorter path to completing a college program

In the last school year, the Armory explored new offerings including kitchenware and pet accessories. Check out their store at armory.lcss.org.
