Spirit Fund FAQ

What is the Spirit Fund?
Spirit Fund is the Lafayette Catholic School System’s annual giving program for all four schools. Simply put, each year our schools rely heavily on gifts to the schools to pay expenses not covered by tuition. No family pays in tuition what is spent on each child. Each gift advances educational opportunities for our students in a variety of programs such as visual and performing arts, athletics, faith ministry, tuition assistance, teacher support and professional development, classroom needs, and extracurriculars.

Who participates in Spirit Fund?
Providing our youth with a faith-based education is the responsibility of ALL Catholics. The Spirit Fund allows our entire community to support our schools. This community consists of our board of directors, priests, parents, grandparents, staff, alumni, and friends.

Why doesn’t LCSS charge enough in tuition to cover all expenses?
Tuition at LCSS reflects the baseline needs of the schools. The Spirit Fund allows us to provide an education above and beyond what is afforded by tuition. Your support of the Spirit Fund is the difference between a good education and a great one.

Additionally, the Spirit Fund is a way for those who believe in the importance and the mission of the Lafayette Catholic Schools to show support for the school system.

What does the Spirit Fund support?
Spirit Fund allows our schools to continue to grow and thrive. Donations to the Spirit Fund support all the things that make our schools great including professional development opportunities for teachers, 1:1 technology, tuition assistance, the Knights360 program, classroom needs, and extracurriculars, to name a few.

Can I designate my gift?
Yes. We recognize that each individual and family has different perspectives and desires in our schools. Gifts may be designated to support an area that is meaningful to you. Please select one of the designated areas on your commitment form.

Does LCSS qualify for matching funds?
Yes. As a private school system, LCSS qualifies for most corporate gift-matching programs. Please check with your human resources department or contact Matt Buche, Director of Advancement, at 765-474-7500 or [email protected] for assistance.
