Central Catholic Athletics brought back two basketball teams on the anniversary of their historic wins!
Some alumni refer to the 1973 post-season tournament as some of the best memories of their entire high school experience. In January, the members of the team and their families came together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of when CC ended Lafayette Jeff's twenty-nine year reign of consecutive Sectional Championships. The Knights went on to the Final 8 falling to South Bend Adams.
And 25 years after the 1973 win, the CC boys basketball team had another historic year, winning the 1998 1A State Basketball Championship. This was the first year that Indiana high school basketball went to class basketball.
