Catholic Schools Week 2023

The Lafayette Catholic School System celebrated the national Catholic Schools Week on January 29 - February 4. The week was kicked off with Mass at the six local parishes, with LCSS students attending in their uniforms and helping throughout the Mass by serving, doing readings, and taking up the gifts.

Some of the highlights from the rest of the week include:
  • The preschoolers at St. Francis had a visit from Fr. Faker, who explained about St. Blaise and the blessing of throats.
  • Students at St. Mary celebrated Vocations Day during Catholic School Week and dressed up as doctors, sports players, policemen, teachers, veterinarians, and moms. The students also wrote thank you notes to Fr. Rowland for choosing his vocation to serve as our pastor.
  • The St. Boniface girls basketball team played at Sacred Heart Elementary. In celebration of Catholic Schools Week, our girls brought cupcakes to share with our fellow Catholic school students!
  • St. Lawrence enjoyed Character Day, and the students and teachers dressed up as characters from books.
  • Central Catholic has an epic game of Faculty Knock Out!
