Carson Risch Wins Lilly Scholarship

Each year, high school seniors throughout Indiana apply to the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program. The Lilly Scholarship provides a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to any Indiana public or private college or university. This year, Carson Risch, a senior at Central Catholic, was awarded one of the Lilly Scholarships.

“Carson has been driven in his studies from the start,” said Edwin Risch, Carson’s grandfather. “I have not had to ask him or tell him to study. He has had an internal drive to study and do his best.”

While at CC, Carson has participated in Spellbowl, Academic Super Bowl, Bowling, and Golf. After graduation, he plans on attending Purdue University and majoring in Biochemistry. He plans to attend medical school and work in the field of Neurology or become an Anesthesiologist.

“Winning the Scholarship is important to me because it allows me to receive an education without the worry of college tuition,” said Carson. “It also shows me that working hard in school and putting effort and care into my other activities will let me reach success, so I am grateful that the Lilly Scholarship foundation is willing to help pave the path to my goals.”

Congratulations to Carson! We wish you the best next year.
