Class of 1967 Fine & Performing Arts Fund Established

The Lafayette Catholic School System is excited to announce a new grant fund has been established between the Central Catholic Class of 1967 as part of their 50th class reunion celebration.

In August 2018, the Class of 1967 embarked on a fundraising effort to establish a Class of 1967 Endowment in memory of deceased classmates. The undertaking sought to raise a minimum of $10,000 to provide support for current and future needs of Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School. The class leadership team coordinated their efforts with LCSS through the Vision 2030 Campaign, to provide investments in facilities and programs to ensure a state of the art learning environment at Central Catholic. Members of the Class of 1967 were invited participate in the campaign through one time gifts, multi-year commitments, planned gifts or prayer.

By June 2019, the Class of 1967 was happy to announce they had received enough gifts and written commitments to surpass their goal.

On June 24, 2021, the Class of 1967 officially executed and launched the Class of 1967 Fine & Performing Arts Fund for the purpose of providing unrestricted grants for Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School Fine and Performing Arts Programs. The class has currently received $15,400 in commitments from sixteen classmates and received $11,420 towards the new fund. The fund will be financially managed in the Lafayette Catholic School System Education Endowment Fund at the Lafayette Diocesan Foundation, Inc. The investment policy has been established to provide grants on an annual basis for in perpetuity. All additional support towards the fund will transferred to the foundation for investment growth.

This legacy gift enables the Lafayette Catholic School System to achieve long-term financial stability and sustainability. Thank you to the Class of 1967 for making this investment in the future of Central Catholic!
