An annual tradition started in 2006 to recognize and celebrate distinguished alumni of Central Catholic for their achievements in spiritual, community service and professional life. It has been the highest accolade reserved solely for alumni who are making a difference in their community, state, nation and/or Church. Nominations are received throughout the year by anyone and recipients are selected by past winners, the Advancement Committee and school administration. The selection committee meets in March and the winners are announced at the Blue Knight Auction. An honorary reception is held on the last day of school and the distinguished alumni are recognized that evening during the commencement ceremonies.
In May, the Advancement Committee approved expanding the program to include Teachers, Administrators, Staff and Honorary Alumni beginning with the 2019-20 school year. A new tradition will kickoff in spring 2020 to recognize and celebrate Honored Teachers/Administrators/Staff and Honorary Alumni, in addition to the Distinguished Alumni.
