Celebrating the Success of the Building Faith &
Futures Campaign!
On August 29, 2010 Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School celebrated the completion of the Building Faith & Futures Campaign, a capital campaign to renovate Central Catholic.
The campaign raised $4,669,197 from over 380 alumni, parents, and friends of CC.
More than 130 donors to the campaign attended a special mass and reception to honor their commitment and generosity to the campaign. Bishop Timothy Doherty and Fr. Timothy Alkire,
Chair of the Board of Trustees, concelebrated mass in the new St. Joseph Chapel. Guests then attended a reception and were taken on tours to showcase the renovations and additions by
student tour guides.
A community open house also took place later than evening, so that local community members, school families, and local alumni were able to see the renovations and additions.
Renovations and additions focused on enhancing the academic and faith environments at Central Catholic. Classrooms received new windows and heating and air units. The hallways were
updated with new lighting and ceiling tiles. New science labs were added through a generous gift from the Alfred J. and Dorothy N. McAllister Foundation that provided the necessary renovations to
the current labs along with all the furnishings. Two new class rooms were added in the junior high wing to provide more learning space for students. Also, new locker rooms and rest rooms were added.
The faith environment was enhanced through the addition of the new St. Joseph Chapel, which provides a place for all students to explore their faith. It will also be used for individual class masses and alumni class masses as well.
