One of my favorite days to scroll though Facebook has to be on the first day of school. I really do enjoy checking out all of the First Day of School photos posted by those proud parents wondering where the time has gone as their little ones move on to another year of school. And this year for more than 60 Lafayette area families, the First Day of School photos were a little different, because their daughters were donning crisp plaid jumpers or skorts, and their sons were decked out in navy pants and white shirts with the LCSS crest on them.
That’s right, our Lafayette Catholic School family added 63 NEW families this school year. In addition to the new Kindergarten class, there are 61 NEW students in grades 1 – 12. And 29 of those students are attending Central Catholic. The largest grade across the school system is grade 4 with 88 students, followed closely by CC’s freshman class of 81! Compare that to the Class of 2015 that just graduated with 56 students.
My favorite First Day of School Facebook post that went alongside her children’s photos was simply “feeling blessed.” And with that I extend a personal thank you to all of you who continue to make it possible for more children to receive an outstanding education in a faith-filled environment. Thank you to all…
- who continue to share the word about our schools,
- who donate their financial gifts to ensure our schools have the necessary resources, and for those
- who give of their endless time and talents to see that it all gets done!
