Tuition Assistance Guidelines
It is the desire of the Lafayette Catholic School System that that a Catholic education be
affordable for all who desire it for their children. For this reason, the
tuition assistance program is a high priority for our school system, and
families who are unable to financially afford the entire cost of a Catholic
education are encouraged to apply for assistance if they meet the following
criteria.
- Tuition Assistance is available to Catholic families who are registered at a
Catholic parish and have children attending the Lafayette Catholic School
System (LCSS).
- Families must be considered by their pastor to be "a member in good standing" in the
parish and this status is at the discretion of the pastor.
Tuition Assistance applications are evaluated by a firm independent from the
Lafayette Catholic School System. Applications are available by
contacting (765) 474-7500 or email info@lcss.org.
Tuition Assistance is awarded for tuition for kindergarten through 12th grades only.
The additional all-day kindergarten charge is not eligible.
Tuition Assistance awards are applicable for one school year only. An application
must be submitted each year the assistance is requested. Tuition Assistance
is to supplement the tuition paid by the family. Therefore, one hundred
percent of tuition cannot be granted.
Tuition Assistance applicants qualifying for tuition assistance are notified by the
Business office regarding their award.
Applications for tuition assistance for the next school year are available February 1st and
are due on March 1st. New families may apply for tuition assistance at any
time prior to the start of the school year. Please apply as early as possible.
Need-Based Scholarships
Families with Central Catholic students qualifying for Tuition Assistance also
qualify for consideration of the Robert Schwartz Scholarship and the Herman
and Dorothy Schrader Scholarship. Applications are sent with tuition
assistance award letters.
Tuition Credit
Tuition credit can be earned by participating in the SCRIP program at St. Lawrence, St.
Mary or St. Boniface parishes. SCRIP cards (like gift cards) may be purchased for everyday items like gas, groceries, and gifts and a portion of the
cost is accumulated as a tuition credit to be applied in a lump sum the
following school year.
SCRIP cards may be purchased after the weekend Masses. See the church bulletins for other
times for purchasing SCRIP. |
