School Mission

St. Boniface fosters spirituality and academic excellence in a distinctive Catholic Franciscan environment with high expectations for students in grades four to six by developing the whole person and facilitating the success of all students.
St. Boniface School accomplishes this by:
  • teaching Catholicism as a faith to be lived.
  • providing a core curriculum program of studies.
  • recognizing each individual's ability.
  • assisting students to grow in confidence.

 

Description
St. Boniface School provides a quality Catholic education for students in Grades 4 through 6 in a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning.

Faculty

Principal, 6 classroom teachers, physical education teacher, music teacher, art teacher, resource room, computer lab, counselor, Title I. Classroom Teachers - 50% have Master's degrees and all are State Certified.

Students

Student/teacher ratio is 19:1. Students come from the surrounding parishes in the Greater Lafayette area. Open to non-Catholic students.

Daily Schedule

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:00 p.m.

Spiritual Growth

Daily religious instruction in the Catholic Faith, daily prayer, Holy Mass twice a week, Sacramental Preparation, active participation in liturgical celebrations, Altar Servers, Family Life program, and Service Projects.

Curriculum

State-approved curriculum: Language Arts, Phonics, Math, Social Studies, Science, Handwriting, Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Lab and Substance Abuse & AIDS Education. 

Enrichment

Education Fair: Science & History, Media; Field Trips, Educational Contests, Music, Choir, Special Assemblies, Christian Schools Spelling and Math Competition, Annual Fall and Spring Music programs.

Technology

Computer Lab with 16 student IMac computers. Curriculum includes keyboarding, software application exposure, Internet use and safety.  Automated Library System.

Special Services

Student Guidance Counselor, Greater Lafayette Area Special Services and part-time Resource Teacher, Health Programs and Testing, Parent Volunteer Program, Remedial and Enrichment Programs, Rainbows for God’s Children, Title I Reading.

Transportation

No Catholic School System bus system.  The Lafayette School Corporation provides public school bus transportation in some areas of Lafayette. Call (765) 449-3293 for more information. Carpooling assistance is provided by the school office by providing names of families living in your general neighborhood.

Extended Care

St. Mary’s After School Care @ St. Mary School available to St. Boniface students.  Monday—Friday 2:50 - 5:30 p.m.
YWCA and YMCA provide bus service to and from St. Mary’s for their after school programs.

Parents

St. Mary/St. Boniface PTO. Projects are fundraising and social in nature including the Fall Festival, movie nights, teacher appreciation luncheons, etc.
