Retreats
Class retreats are designed to give students the opportunity to examine and develop
their relationship with God, with one another, with their families and with their
community. The retreats are age appropriate
and consist of talks, small group activities and time for prayer and reflection.
Retreats will be held during normal school hours. Retreats will use either St. Lawrence Parish Church Hall or Bishop’s Hall at St. Mary’s
Cathedral.

SEARCH
SEARCH is a three-day, two-night, retreat for juniors led by a team of senior leaders. Adult leaders, known as elders also
assist with the retreat. Juniors who attend the weekend then have the opportunity
to go through a formation period during their senior year to prepare to give the
gift of the retreat to the next group in the spring.
The weekend is full from the time the juniors arrive to the time they leave two
days later. The senior leaders lead
prayer services and present talks on a variety of topics relevant to teens and their
faith. Everyone attends Mass, participates
in fun and games, and enjoys delicious meals and an endless supply of snacks. They have the opportunity to share what’s
on their minds and in their hearts with one another.
SEARCH was renewed at Central Catholic in the spring of 2005 when a team of students
and adults came from Ironton, Ohio, to present the program to Central Catholic juniors
and seniors. The weekend has proved
to be a life changing experience for over 75% of the juniors who choose to participate
in the weekend.
